Guardianship
We are committed to providing the very best environment for our students, both through our comfortable, secure accommodation and our bespoke guardianship service, proudly delivered in partnership with Bright World Guardianships.
Like most UK schools, all of MPW’s international students with parents outside of the UK are required to have an educational guardian for the duration of their studies. Guardians play an essential role in supporting students both in college and in their accommodation.
Our bespoke programme, managed by Bright World Guardianships, provides an ideal solution for parents who do not have their own contact who satisfies the requirements of a guardian.
The role of a guardian
A guardian is an individual or agency who acts on behalf of a student’s parents throughout the academic year. They are the primary contact in case of an emergency, provide additional pastoral support and attend college for progress meetings. A suitable guardian should be:
- A permanent UK resident (i.e. UK passport holder or with leave to remain)
- Over 25 years old
- A fluent English speaker
- Available 24/7 in case of emergency
- Located no more than two hours’ drive of the college
- Able to provide the right level of support to the student
